Sara Persico is an Italian sound artist, composer and performer whose work explores the intersection of voice, analog electronics and field recordings.
A classically trained vocalist, Persico holds a Bachelor of Arts in Voice and Performance from the Conservatory of Napoli (2012) and a Master's Degree from the Conservatory of Bologna (2015). Her artistic development has been further shaped through prestigious international residencies, including Tempo Studio (Lisbon, 2018), Amplify Berlin (2021), Summersessions (Argentiera, 2022), Goethe Institut (Beirut, 2023), MusicBoard Berlin (Kampala, 2023), and Mutant Radio (Tbilisi, 2024).
Persico has established herself as a significant presence in experimental music, with performances at celebrated venues and festivals including Berlin Atonal, documenta fifteen, Ballroom Blitz Beirut, CTM Festival, Nyege Nyege Festival, Ormside Projects, Dancity Festival, and Santarcangelo Festival.
Her collaborative practice spans diverse artistic communities, notably performing with Evelyn Saylor's vocal ensemble for Caterina Barbieri's light-years at Rewire Festival and London's Southbank Centre. Her artistic partnerships extend to work with Elvin Brandhi, Andy Moor (The Ex), Tony Elieh, Ludwig Wandinger, Dirar Kalash, and Francesca Grilli.
Persico's critically acclaimed solo debut album, Boundary, was released in March 2023 on Karlrecords, followed by her sophomore work Sphaîra in February 2025 on Subtext Recordings. Her innovative approach to sound has earned her selection for the Shape+ Platform 2023/24, a European initiative championing pioneering music and interdisciplinary art.
